Wild La Crescenta

I was sitting outside trying to enjoy a little solitude when my peace was interrupted by our new La Crescenta friends. WILD PARROTS!

We have had these annoying creatures that screech very early in the morning and late in the evening, for a few months.

One happened to land on the wire above my house so I took its picture.

I know Nelson was wishing it would come a little closer so he could have dinner fit for a king. But I'm glad it didn't because this one is so big he would probably fly off with Nelson.

Just wanted to share.

"Do that thing" & Happy Birthday to you

Saturday was Mikaela's dance recital at the "Alexander Nechita Center for the Arts, Lutheran High School."

The name of the recital was "Broadway Classics meets Hollywood Glitz"
There were a lot of talented girls ranging from age 4 to adult. [ Mikaela, I still think your mom should take the tap class and perform with you next year :) ]

Mikaela's hip hop group performed "Do That Thing". She did an awesome job with her other dancers and they were quite a site to behold in all red.

I had hoped to do a small video clip but when we got there we were told no flash photography and no videotaping. [ BOO HISS]

So I told Mikaela I would feature her in the blog but unfortunately her pictures are kind of blurry and the picture with the whole company she got put behind some tall person. [ Again BOO HISS ]

We were also celebrating because it was Melissa's birthday. We went to Fridays for lunch and had fun eating and laughing (The 2 things that Tafts are really good at).

Amanda told the waitress it was her Mom's birthday so she got a funny song which caused her to turn a lovely shade of red.

Here are the pictures to share.

Oh What do you do in the Summertime....

This Saturday was the summer kick off party at Melissa's house.

It was the time to forget books, tests & waking up early and celebrate that Summer was here.

It was really fun to see the energy and the youth and reminded me of those summers I spent with Melissa at her house when we swam for hours on end at the community pool.

We had hot dogs [Thank you Taylor for cooking :) ]

And LOTS OF CHIPS.

Because when the invitation said to bring a snack that must mean CHIPS. Next time we will have to be more specific. :)

I have attached pictures for all to see.

Amanda & Ashley have some great friends and fun was had by all.

I can't wait for the 4th of July.

Welcome Little Lily....

Hello Family.

Very exciting news. David & Michelle are parents to the 4th power

Lily Jewel Potter was born June 4 2008 a little after 7:30 am. She weighed in at 7 lbs 1 oz and was 18 inches long.

And bonus score she was born on Mom & Dad's 40th wedding anniversary. No one will ever be able to top that gift.

I have attached pictures so you can see the newest Potter.

And yes we know that Harry Potter's mother was named Lily. We swear it was not done on purpose it is a family name also.

We love you all.
